Es una copia de Our Lady or the Rockies.... comprueben ustedes,,,,

Our Lady of the Rockies
A 90-Foot Statue in the likeness of Mary, Mother of Jesus a top the Continental Divide 8,510 feet above sea level overlooking Butte, Montana at the Interstate Hub of I-90/I-15.
The Basic StoryDedicated to all women especially to mothers.
Our Lady of the Rockies, a 90-foot statue that sits atop the Continental Divide is the realization of a dream and the result of six years of hard work.
Our Lady is the end result of donations of time, money, land, equipment, manpower, and a wealth of love and faith. On December 20, 1985, countless volunteers completed a seemingly impossible task when Our Lady was placed on the East Ridge overlooking Butte, Montana. The base is 3,500 feet above the city and 8,510 feet above sea level. The statue, lighted and visible at night, is a spectacular sight to behold.
The project began on December 29, 1979. Men and women from all walks of life, and almost every religion, worked to pave the way for the statue, built in the likeness of Mary, Mother of Jesus.
It is entirely nondenominational, and was dedicated by the workers to women everywhere, especially to mothers. Volunteers spent many summer evenings blasting a road to the top of the Rockies, sometimes making only 10 feet of progress a day. Meanwhile, as the statue was being constructed, individuals were working to raise needed funds through various projects. Memorials were a very large part of the economic support, and remain that way today.
The base of the statue was poured with 400 tons of concrete in September of 1985. On December 17, 1985, a NCh-54 Sikorsky Sky Crane lifted the statue in four sections to the top of the Continental Divide. The team that deftly executed the delicate operation were from the Army National Guard's Army Aviation Support Facility, the 137th Aviation Co. from the Reno-Stead Airport in Nevada.
Supported by the Montana National Guard, the U.S. Army Reserve from Butte, and teams of civilian workers, the final head section was placed atop the statue, while thousands watched and honked their car horns and rang church bells throughout the valley, at 4:07 pm Mountain Standard Time on December 20, 1985.
A dream had come true, and every man, woman and child who worked on, or contributed to the project, held that dream in their hearts.
Fascinating two-hour roundtrip bus tours are available from June until September from our shop at the Butte Plaza Mall, 3100 Harrison Avenue .
A tram is in the planning stages that can carry visitors to the base of the statue in about 5 minutes. The tram ride will be approximately 1 mile long and will move over a vertical rise of 2,000 feet. The tram will have two 25-passenger cars. The cars will be fully handicapped accessible with an operator/narrator. The cars will move in jigback fashion, with one car leaving the top at the same time the other car leaves the bottom. The tram will run 10 months out of the year. The cost to ride the tram will be approximately $10 for each adult with discounted rates for senior citizens and children. Season passes will be available for purchase as well.
Tram riders will be treated to spectacular views, an observatory, a gift shop and restaurant and of course, a chance to visit Our Lady of the Rockies up close.
Tram cars will be equipped with bike racks, so passengers can take their bikes to the top and ride back down.
We are seeking donations to help maintain and expand the Our Lady site as well as to complete the Tram to allow more visitors from around the world to visit her. Our Lady of the Rockies is recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and any and all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
